TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd in the advanced stage of developing state of the art SEZ facility in Nagpur
Nagpur, Feb. 11, 2008 -India-based TAL Manufacturing Solutions Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary Tata Motors Ltd., is now in an advanced stage of developing a state- of- the -art high technology facility at SEZ, Nagpur specifically for Aero structures Business Operations.
The establishment of the facility follows TAL's agreement with the Boeing Company [NYSE:BA] in February 2008 for manufacturing structural components for Boeing's 787 Dreamliner airplane programme. Under the agreement, TAL Manufacturing Solutions will build floor beams for the 787 using new technology with advanced titanium and composite materials. These floor beams will be used on the 787 Dreamliner and provide for a best-value solution and significant weight savings. The floor beams will be transported to Boeing partners in Japan, Italy and the United States for further assembly.
Besides supplying to Boeing Company, TAL has also decided to make wider foray into the aerostructure business with global OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. The company is geared up with a highly competent and aggressive Aero-structures Business Team which is evaluating several high-potential business opportunities in the aerospace domain. The initiative will leverage TAL's experience in executing, from its Pune facility, precision components, jigs and tooling orders for various industries, including aerospace.
